The church of San Nicolao, now deconsecrated and used as an exhibition space, is the result of continuous stratifications traceable in the constructive complexity of the building and in the presence of frescoes belonging to different historical periods. The project involves the construction of a double triangular mezzanine and a staircase to access it. The intervention maintains the double height of the church and at the same time increases the exhibition area. Great attention is dedicated to the restoration of medieval and Renaissance plasterwork and frescoes, to the treatment of all existing surfaces and to the specific design of all display and lighting supports.

We use to empathize with creatures we know, we use to pray the unknown ones.
These fantastic animals are created with recycled ecological leather.

Now every man is any man. Every man is all men (Ēgāra, Dvanaest, Tretten, Neliteist).
Our treasures are still hidden under the new skin, while the passing of time brings them alive day after day. (Quinze, Kuusitoista).
Like the trunk of a tree the vest becomes a time measurement system that hides and reveals the colors of our identities until the fire is completely blazed. (Umikumāhiku, Astoņpadsmit, Dahanava vana,Labaatan).
No man is a mummy (Dua puluh hiji, Tjugotvå).

The atrium is the only “room” in the apartment that is not a room. The floor is transformed into a square, an open book made up of mosaic tiles like the words of a travel story. From Milan to the island of Lipari. The lava flows along the slopes of the volcano generate a carpet that welcomes guests and invites them to discover the crater, the house. The design marks a fluid threshold that connects and separates the interior spaces.

The wind dresses the landscape, carrying the perfumes of woods and flowers through the vineyards.
The swing overlooks the hills of Franciacorta, rocking like a pendulum over a basin of water that makes the experience of swinging both peaceful and unconfident, connecting the sky with the ground.
It is built with an elementary structure of four posts and a beam, painted in orange like a Japanese Torii.
The sculpture is a portal that it is possibile to continuously cross following its rhythmic dance. Back and fort, until gravity makes it motionless.

Some of the pieces are real, some are plastic copies.
The furniture exhibition inside this space researches the duality between fake and authentic.
The scenography is painted over folding panels, a false perspective sketch of the ashlar pattern of the exterior facade. It is a fake representation of our daily life background, the city.
The drawing is copied, colored, folded and rotated. Endlessly.

A tropical garden in a nordic city.
    Surreal, as Belgium.
The structure of the palms, trunks and leaves, plays with the structure of the building, columns and vaults.
The nature follows the architecture and viceversa.
The painted columns do not touch the floor and the leaves do not follow exactly the course of the ceiling.
They break the rules of architecture as nature always do.

The project is a garden, a fluid and continuous public space, a natural walkway that connects the city of Carloforte with the the sea. The park serves as an urban connector and cultural campus. The proposal therefore represents a contemporary version of the botanical garden: a place where people can meet, have fun, educate themselves, a place of recreation, sport, beauty and learning; a place that connects all the areas and inhabitants that surround it and that is itself connected to all sides. Nature and architecture can finally coexist in the city.

The space of the threshold takes on the role of a pavilion, where the crossing of the border between inside and outside is dilated into a constellation of 147 doors. One entrance leads to the next, a new handle, another door to push, one to pull, yet another passage to pass. Thanks to the installation of a modular system, the rhythm of the infinite entrances exacerbates the idea of passing through a new portal, perhaps the last, perhaps not. The center of the installation is the threshold of the building, a phenomenon of celebration and negation of space, distinction between public and private, between city and home, between divine and earthly.

    Park of scenographies

The new complex of laboratories of the Teatro alla Scala follows the morphology of the Park.
The project involves a light and transparent building that gradually grows like a hill in the city. Thanks to the maximum transparency of the facades and the setting up of public scenographies along the infinite garden roofs, the new building welcomes the citizens, bringing them closer to the world of the theater and culture.

The close relationship with the laboratories allows the theatrical sets to be used as temporary architectures for the city, where various types of activities can be carried out, from concerts to conferences.

Two carpets for the city of Milan. Piazzale Loreto and Piazza Tito Minniti welcome their new painted floors. The texture, squares and hexagons, recalls the paving of the historic Milanese architecture. Pixel provides the active involvement of the city inhabitants. Each of these participates in the creation of the work by personalizing one of the ‘tiles’ that make up the whole puzzle. The citizen chooses the color of his box and proposes a drawing to realize within it. The constellation of all the pixels gives shape to the final design of the square, narrating a collective growth of the city as a result of the energy of each person.

    Control.
    it’s defining what you inspire
    what inspires us
    everyday.
    Everyday the are numerous effervescences;
their meeting is synonymous with relinquishing.
It’s about continually moving from one performance to another
to understand and accept the exigencies,
    but also to defeat them,
    and enter new areas.
Every day, the energy is great, engine of all productions and situations
    – whether banal or exceptional they may be.

Blood red, american Yellow, blood red. Spain
Upsdell Red, White, Dark Cornflower Blue. The Netherlands

Outside the three pavilions of Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands 100 bistro chairs are placed along the walkway that leads to the Central Pavilion. Each chair is painted with one of the 8 colors that compose the flags of the three countries.
After visiting the exhibitions inside the pavilions, the visitors can grab a chair, move it closer to another one and so, to another person.
The simple act of sitting together and talking.
When two chairs meet, colors are mixed, flags blended, cultures merged and experiences shared.
The confident gesture of opening the folded chair is a choice of sharing, a new step.
The bistro chair is an icon, it belongs to the garden or in general to exterior spaces.
Chairs come together if only people come together. Their displacement brings the countries together, transforming the installation into an unconscious performance.
