High Tide

Carloforte is a town of ever-changing density and fluxes.In August a high tide of tourists floods the waterfront, the bars, the shops and the streets. The harbor is the only accessible point of the island and suddenly the city is filled with the holiday life. The project accepts the challenge of the waterline as a welcoming and self-recovering place, promoting the public garden as a low-tech dispositive, capable of controlling the different variations of our contemporary lifestyles.

Carloforte è un paese dai flussi e dalla densità in continua evoluzione. In agosto l’alta marea di turisti inonda il lungomare, i bar, i negozi e le strade e il porto è l’unico luogo accessibile dell’isola. Il progetto punta ad intendere il lungomare come un luogo accogliente ma soprattutto autorigenerante, tramite l’architettura del giardino pubblico inteso dispositivo low-tech, capace di controllare le diverse variazioni degli stili di vita contemporanea.
